CALL FOR submissions – young investigator award

Dear BCIS Member,

I am pleased to invite you to submit one or more abstracts to showcase your research in competition for the BCIS Young Investigator Award 2023.

This award is open to BCIS members. Clinicians should be in training or in either a locum or fellowship post in advance of taking up a substantive consultant appointment. The applicant would normally be presenting original data from a project for which they have played a leading role, but will freely acknowledge the contribution of their supervisor and the rest of the research team.

Applications will be graded and the top four will be invited to present their abstract to a panel of judges. The winner will then be invited to present their abstract at a main session at ACI 2023,  and will receive their certificate and prize from the President at the conference dinner on Thursday, 19 January 2023.

All submissions should be submitted via the form below by the closing date of 5pm on the 4th November.

I am happy to answer all queries about the award via bcis@millbrookconferences.co.uk

Good luck!

The positions would last for one year, with the option to extend at the discretion of the communication team.

You can see two examples of content created for the Fellows Corner area of the BCIS website below:

UK Fellowship Directory

UK Fellowship Directory

We are fortunate in the UK to have a range of excellent interventional fellowships. Sometimes, however, it can be challenging for trainees to find a fellowship that meets their specific training needs and fits with their timings.

The idea of these pages is to provide trainees with a list of interventional fellowships to help plan their training. The webpage is split into UK regions and whether the fellowship is coronary, structural or a combination of both.

Each of the listings here provides brief details on that fellowship from the viewpoint of a current or recent fellow at that centre. If the fellow is happy to be contacted for further advice about the merits of a centre, then they have left their email address. If you notice that your centre is not included or some of the details are out of date please contact bcis@millbrookconferences.co.uk.

We hope that you find this a useful resource for planning your fellowships.

You can also refer to the BJCA’s Fellowship page to find cardiology fellowships currently accepting applications here.

If you would like to add a UK or international fellowship to this list, please email BCIS@millbrookconferences.co.uk, or fill in the form at the bottom of the page.

Good luck!
